Gallery History

The Downtown New Port Richey Art Gallery's parent organization, Greater New Port Richey Main Street, understood the integral role the Arts play in creating a vibrant, exciting downtown district, which led to the creation of the Gallery in 2003.

Faced with the option of opening another administrative office in one of the downtown locations, the Main Street Board opted to encourage the revitalization of our downtown by installing a Gallery in the office space fronting Grand Boulevard and to install their offices in the back of the building.  The Gallery had become a much loved and appreciated cornerstone of our downtown’s cultural movement and it saddens all who were and are involved in the Gallery to see its closure.

We featured local, regional and international Fine Artists and exhibited works in all media in an effort to both foster a supportive environment for artists, as well as to present thought provoking, stimulating exhibits for the benefit of the community. The Gallery underwent an extensive remodeling in 2014, upgrading its facilities to offer more exhibition space and even greater viewing pleasure for our visitors and guests.  Even with all of the changes the Gallery will no longer be a part of the cultural community

of New Port Richey.  Due to lack of funds the Gallery is closing its doors on October 31, 2015.  The staff of the Gallery, past and

present, and the Board of Directors of Greater New Port Richey Main St. Organization, thank you for your years of support.
